Now that you have your Moto Cinch tie downs, here are a few tips that might help make the most of them:
-
- If mounted in a trailer, mount sideways to save room and use walls/rails to minimize movement front and back.
- Use the brake strap to eliminate froward or backward movement.
- Put the bike in gear and with front tire against wall/bed of truck. Pull up on rear tire (as if moving bike forward) using the bikes gears to keep pressure against the front and limiting front wheel movement.
- Limit side to side movement by moving the cinch to a lower mounting hole, cinching the bike down further.
- Street bike model – make sure pegs are at least 13” from ground and pegs are mounted firmly to the bike frame (many street/sport bikes have pegs that are not firmly mounted to the frame).

MOTO CINCH foot peg tie downs
Moto Cinch allows you to mount multiple bikes close together – note in this pic the pegs almost overlap. The front wheel are pressed against the side of the trailer. This trailer has seen thousands of miles and zero issues with the mounts or bikes.

Foot peg tie downs
In this setup, the sport bike was too short for the tie downs to secure the bike, so a 2×6 was added under the wheel raising the bike about 1.5” and problem solved. Note the 2 dirt bikes were mounted so that the front wheels are secured by the corner of the trailer. This setup would work just as well in all the bikes were sideways, but you have to be able to lift the back end into place which is difficult on a street bike. This trailer now has mounts to haul up 6 bikes in multiple configurations depending on what we are hauling and where we are going.
